About this experience
Al-Sadu is the Bedouin weaving tradition on the UNESCO intangible heritage list — geometric bands in undyed camel and sheep wool, woven on a ground loom. Our studio is a restored mud-brick house a few minutes from At-Turaif. Sessions are taught by working craftswomen. On the loom you learn to read the patterns and weave a band you keep; at the clay bench you throw and decorate a Najdi-style bowl in the ochre and white geometry used on the region's pottery. All materials included, tea and dates throughout. Sessions run in Arabic and English, and children over eight are welcome alongside an adult.

Private Studio Hire
The whole studio for your group — loom, clay and woodwork stations with a craftswoman on each. Built for teams and private celebrations. Flat group rate, lunch in the courtyard included.

Weaving & Clay Combined Day

Sadu Weaving Workshop
Three hours on the ground loom with a working weaver. Learn to read the geometric bands, then weave one of your own in undyed camel and sheep wool. You keep what you weave.

Najdi Clay & Pottery Session
Two hours at the clay bench: throw a bowl, then decorate it in the ochre and white geometry used on Najdi pottery. Fired and glazed for collection a week later, or shipped within the Kingdom.
