About this experience
King Fahd's Fountain, gifted to Jeddah in 1985, shoots a column of seawater high above the Red Sea and is often described as the tallest fountain of its kind in the world. The best free vantage point is the Corniche promenade opposite the Ritz-Carlton, where benches face the jet across the water. At dusk the spray catches the colours of sunset, and after dark floodlights turn it into a glowing white plume visible across the city. Food stalls and cafés along the Corniche make it easy to linger.
