About this experience
Eat your way through the working market at Bab Makkah, the old gate on the pilgrim road into Jeddah. This is not a tourist souq — it is where the city actually shops. Six tasting stops: a spice merchant who will blend a kabsa mix for you, a date stall, fresh sambusak from the fryer, foul and tamees for breakfast, a coffee roaster, and mint tea to finish. Your guide handles the ordering and explains what you are eating. Come hungry — the tastings add up to a full meal. Vegetarian route available on request.
