About this experience

Founded in Jeddah in 2009, ATHR is one of the galleries that put Saudi contemporary art on the international map, championing artists such as Ahmed Mater, Manal AlDowayan and Lulwah Al Homoud. Its Jeddah space hosts a rotating programme of solo and group exhibitions, from painting and photography to installation and new media, often by the Kingdom's most talked-about names. Like most commercial galleries it is free to walk in, and staff are happy to talk visitors through the current show. It is a compact, quiet stop for anyone wanting a snapshot of where Saudi art is heading.
