About this experience
Three days along the Asir escarpment, where the plateau drops two thousand metres to the Tihama plain. Small group, one vehicle, two nights in a highland guesthouse. Day one is Habala, the cliff village that could only be reached by rope ladder until the 1990s, now served by cable car. Day two walks the juniper and pencil-cedar forest along the rim and drops into Al-Namas old town. Day three is the terraced farms and a long lunch with a farming family before the return to Abha. Accommodation, breakfasts and all transport included; moderate fitness needed for the rim walk.
