About this experience
Abha sits at 2,200 metres and spends much of the summer inside the clouds. This day trip runs the ridge road up to Al-Sawdah, the highest point in the Kingdom, stopping at the viewpoints along the way. We take in the terraced farms cut into the escarpment, the juniper forest near the summit, and Abha Dam lake on the way back down. Bring a jacket — it is genuinely cold up top and it can be twenty degrees warmer in the city. Transport in an air-conditioned 4x4, hotel pickup within Abha included.
